I am relocating to Las Vegas next fall, and the only breeders I am aware about are those located in California such as Aldercrest and Incredible. However, I don't want to put the puppy through the distress of a flight or long car ride. Any suggestions are welcomed! :]

I think both of those breeders are great. I also think that shipping a puppy, by air or car, is not as stressful as some think. My dog was shipped from Texas to Virginia and was completely fine after his trip and settled in very well. Also, every dog I have helped transport for rescue handles long car rides like a piece of cake and we cover the majority of central US. I wouldn't be worried about transportation IMO.

Hmmm... well if anything, taking her back to Vegas by air or car will be a last resort kind of thing. I'm just worried because my friend brought over her boxer puppy a couple months ago to my house (a 2 hour car ride with stops) and she ended up vomiting 3 times in the car... but I guess the fact that she didn't go on the ride with an empty stomach help her situation.

I just drove 4 hours to visit my parents for the weekend and my dog was fine. I, like RottenVonSpotten, wouldn't worry too much about it. You could always take the pup on some shorter car trips first to sort of build up a tolerance if you're worried. Just a suggestion :]

Some dogs do get car sick, so if that was the case with my pup I would give plenty of water, stop for potty breaks and fresh air every now and then and just take it easy. I think it's unlikely you will run into a problem and those breeders are certainly worth the extra effort.

Picked up my pup at the Atlanta airport yesterday, she rode nonstop from San Diego! And she was in great shape!

Plus we had to drive her about 4 hours to get her home....no problems.

Transport doesn't have to be "negative".

We brought our puppy home to Vegas from Incredible Domermans in May, and although it was a 10 hour car ride, Lorna made sure Griffe was used to the car and he was great the whole way home!

I can also help you find a place if you're relocating, as I'm a Realtor in Las Vegas.

Good luck with the move and finding the right breeder!

I worked at a boarding kennels which was also an accredited animal transport company for 6 years, never ever had an issue with dogs and flying, they all come out the other end healthy and happy... have flown dogs as young as 12 weeks, and as old as 16 years. I would have nooo problem getting a puppy flown to me :)

Solo flew from Manila to Vancouver, then the next day Vancouver to Edmonton end of July. We used a reliable transport company. They were great and the dogs were fine.

It looks as though I've been outnumbered lol.
Okay okay, turning this thread to another direction..... reputable European breeders in the US? Here's the list I have so far... feel free to mention any that I may have forgotten or am not yet aware about.

-Adlercrest
-Incredible
-Kansa
-Cara
-Wittrock
-Bell'Lavoro
-Landgraf
-von Luka
-"Canis Maximum" (putting this in quotes because I've read both good and bad things)

Take that last one off your list and I think you have a fantastic place to start.

What MeadowCat said. Nice list, once you remove Canis Maximum.

I could not possibly be happier with my Incredible Doberman. Gracie is a littermate to jmlv's Griffe.

Best fortune on your quest!
