To all my fellow Dobe lovers from LI. I desperately want to know if anyone has purchased a Dobe from a woman named Holly who breeds dobermans and advertises in Newsday. Our poor Dobe who hasn't even turned 2 is dying because of irresponsible breeding. He has some hereditary form of liver or kidney disease. On our way to the Emergency Vet with our boy we ran into a man who thought we had stolen his dog out of his truck. After closer inspection he realized our dog had much more weight on him then his emaciated pup. He couldn't get over how identical they looked. He asked what was wrong with our pup which we didn't yet know and he explained to us that his dog had a hereditary liver disease. I know of 2 other dogs with diseases from her as well. She needs to be stopped.

I don't know how people like that can use dogs like that. It's disgusting! These poor people purchase these dogs, fall in love and have them ripped away in most cases before they reach their 4th birthday! It's a sin! And the poor dogs are the ones who suffer the most! She has anywhere from 17-20 dogs at a time in her filthy disgusting home.

Please if anyone else has a dog from her please contact me so I we can rescue these cash cows from her!

thanks guys.

Hey guys thanks for replying! God this saddens me greatly to hear others have been through this. To answer some questions yes I purchased dogs from her. I have connections through her vet. He personally told me she breeds good dogs and the occurence if congenital problems are rare! I guess I was suckered in when I saw my boys face for the first time. Anyway I recently found out about on of her pups being returned because of a spinal cord disease! Perhaps the weirdest thing that happened when we were rushing him to the emergency vet. I had dropped off my fiance in front of the building because he had to carry our poor baby in. I went and parked the car and as I'm walking up I see another man confronting him. I wasn't sure why. Turns out the guy thought we stole his dog out of his truck! He said our boy looked exactly like his as in identical. He has a more feminine face. So after the misunderstanding cleared up I asked him where he got his dog from and low and behold her name came out and I almost fainted because he told us his boy had some sort of hereditary liver disease! I asked to take a peek at him. The poor thing was emaciated, fur & bones it was tragic! He really did.look exactly like ours too. Same sweet face and he even had cropped ears that he just let flop over. I was sick to my stomach because.I had just been sucker punched in the face by reality!

How do we rescue these dogs? I don't know! Maybe if enough of us get together we can sue the crap out of her! Or maybe we can complain to the AKC. I know she is still out there selling these poor pups. She used to advertise on Newsday but I haven't seen an ad in quite some time. I did however find her on eBay ckassifieds. Needless to say I unfortunately learned a very hard lesson here.....actually a few. Anyway I am going to post Snoops story on a new thread to share with others so maybe they don't have to go through what I've been through. Maybe one day when I get over him I will need your help finding a reputable breeder!

Thanks all.
