My dobe since this morning I noticed first time, he has a swollen left elbow. Attaching 2 pics. When I touch it, its very soft and looks like a balloon.

He does pack un-imaginable bursts of strength, and any metal on his path gets bent, so I am suspecting he has hit something very bad. Few weeks ago, purchased his 3rd metal crate (Kong's), and in no time he bent its door while getting out.

He seems happy, i.e. doesn't show any behavioral symptoms, but I am going to watch it closely till tomorrow end of day, and if it persists will take him to vet. Has any of dogs experienced such a swollen elbow? and any information on what it can/could be?

(He is 14 months old, male, 98lbs, from Steel Dragon dobermanns).

To the best of my knowledge, DogLeggs can only be purchased online. I've never had experience with hygroma's. Here's some threads of others who have experienced them:

OMG, you are absolutely right, this looks hygroma. Could I buy this dogleggs product at Petsmlart or at a local store? (So many thanks to you for looking at this thread and sharing you experience)

God, having read about Hygroma, it feels guilty here. He has always slept on hard surfaces and never complaint. He gets hit 'n traumas on the elbows un-countable times each day, my EasyWalking Harness I bought him, I think definitely is contributing to that - since that applies pressure on elbows right at the place of swelling. So after bearing so much, at last the swelling came - makes perfect sense.

I am going to immediately alter his lifestyle.

I noticed in one of your pics, his crate is empty (no bed). Maybe that's why he's trying to escape :) Does he have an issue with bed chewing? Kuranda makes a crate bed: Quality Dog Crate Bed and Chew Proof Dog Crate Beds | Kuranda Dog Beds

Alex had small ones, but Rocky had large ones, despite them all sleeping in very cushy beds and chairs. But they resolved on their own, and never caused him pain or mobility issues. He was a big boy, and I think his fast growth contributed to them.

What a nice chew free bed that would be. Though my concern from the picture is, that it seems to have legs and will decrease substantially the height of his crate?, which is already not as big for him (XL sized crate and you cant go bigger than that)

I dont think that he is trying to escape his crate :) I think its just the way he moves when excited. Alternatively I am thinking should I explore a shock collar?

the crate bed legs are 3" tall. They also come with a 2nd set of legs to use outside the crate. I use the beds outside when they are sunning in the yard. What are the dimensions of your crate?

As it didn't disappear naturally (we observed for a few months) Elza did an operation at her 17 months old.

We paid every attention to ensure her bed/cushions were soft enough since her first day.
We knew hygroma but it happened.
Our vet told me it's not just a lifestyle but large dog's constitution, don't feel big guilty!

The operation was not difficult.
Post-surgery was tough. Due to the vet's misguidance (licking for natural healing, no way!!Never!) ,
it suppurated and took two months for full recovery.
Usually for two weeks!

Hope your dog will get better!!
