Jonesy the Hero!!!

Now I'm gonna tell you all this story because I know people around here think oh my boy/girl I've never seen them be aggressive towards anyone, I was one of those people. I've never seen Jones growl/bark/show aggression towards anyone. But when he needed to, he came to my rescue! He is not euro, he is not American, he a Dobe from unknown origins that came to his owner's rescue. Now I am not advocating Dobe's as a good protection system, or a replacement of a gun, but those that think their dogs don't "show" protective insticts.....

I ran into Publix (Grocery store) real quick... Anyways, I was going back out to my car, Get to my car (had the passenger side door open), and a woman approached me (drunk /high or both) and she asked me for change..
I said no way in hell...(I don't give money to panhandlers) She said really? I said yes really...

All this time a guy was coming from behind me, I had no idea!!! Jones and Maks were in the backseat, Jones jumped in the front seat and started growling!!! I've never heard Jones growl at anyone!!! I turned around And this guy backed completely off when he saw Jones, and so did the lady...

After they went away from me, they started walking up to other people... I went into Publix and got manager to call the cops... The one time I don't have my Cell on me...

Good job, Jonesy! It's amazing how they know these things. Especially since you didn't see the guy it's not even like Jones was reacting to you being nervous about random dude's presence. Way to be awesome! :D

Granted it was dark, and I have tinted windows, but I am still in shock (more-so because of Jones reaction)

P.S.
This is the reason I always have my sidearm with me.

Wow!! How scary but thank goodness your boy took care of it! Their instincts are SO amazing...I think it's incredible how they just know when something isn't right! I'm with you though...I ALWAYS keep a weapon in my car. If someone tries to rob me....they're going to regret it ;)

Good boy!!! I am so happy you are ok. I think it is so cool how they are such sweet gentle beings but can and will step up to the plate for their human(s). Gotta love them for that.

That is so scary, good thing you had him with you. I hate to think of what might have happened. They know and they are so smart. They are amazing. I'm surprised they continued to approach others.

incredible story! so they didn't hurt you at the point the dobie started growling, but he can see adrenaline levels in humans... that's why dogs instict never fails about people ....

Dark or no, there's really no mistaking that growl (if Jonesy's sounded anything the way Elka's does). Good dogs! I'm glad you're okay.

Awesome job Jonesy!!! Way to watch out for momma!!
Nexus is very protective of the truck, and she growls at people all the time outside of it, unless I am right there to bring them over. If we are driving down the road, or stopped at a light and she sees them she goes nutz! She usually gets Bella worked up as well, and I know with 2 of them Im covered.
Jonesy is a good boy looking out for you that way, Its great when they show their love and loyalty like this.
