Jada was spayed today

Jada turned 7 months old on Friday and our breeder advised us to have her spayed right before her first heat. She went into today for her spay and is back at home and doing very well. I was so nervous all day but she is doing great. She is not her very active self (thank goodness) so I am hoping that we can keep her pretty docile so that she can recoup.

It's always good to get them back home.

Good luck keeping her calm for the next week or so.

Exactly. My mom's female shepard who is the same age as Titus came into heat again last week and I went over for a visit and it reminded me that we needed to get her appt right away. We just did not want to deal with all of that and I really didnt want her going into heat around Titus. Yes he is neutered so no worries about puppies but he is still a male and I didnt want to drive him crazy with all of those girlie hormones. :)
Glad everything went according to plan. I'm sending Jada a big get well hug from Tia and me.

Yeah. We are already running into that problem.
I take it she is back to her normal self by now?

Trin was so needy and calm the week after her spay...she was so drugged up. haha...I was actually thinking, damn where can I get me some more of this Doggy Ritalin?

But she was back to her normal hyperactive self in no time. Which = More headaches and More FUN!!!!!!
tjmom, glad eveything has gone well with her spay, but at the blinkof an eye she will be blasting around and being her old self, so enjoy the down time while you can!!!!!
So glad the surgery went well. We had to keep Skyler in her crate for a week, because her incision swelled a little on the second day, so the crate was the only place she wouldn't try to jump and play. It was a hard and long week, because she whined alot and was confused as to why she couldn't get out and play. I felt so sorry for her, but I didn't want her to swell any more than she did. After the week she was fine. Giver your baby lts of kisses and hugs for us.
