My boy is 7, he suffers from IVDD and has had 2 ventral slot surgeries in the past year and a half. His last surgery was just 2 months ago and since he has pooped in the house twice. The first time we were home and he never indicated that he had to go, today he had been out many times and I was only gone for an hour. I am taking him for a recheck with the neuro in 2 weeks. We have noticed that the most affected limb has started turning in a little more and he seems to be using it a little less the past week or so.

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced any sort of fecal incontinence after ventral slot surgery or generally in a dog with IVDD?

I am so worried that he may have some permanent nerve damage or something, I think when this has happened he does not know it's coming, it's very strange.
