Good morning!

Duchess has joined our large family (6 kids with the twins being 6 and our oldest is 18 and gone to college) She is beautiful and is red.

My husband had a dobe as a child, but for all of us, it's our first doberman. We are looking forward to learning with her and I look forward to meeting some of you on this site!

The debate has begun in our house with the kids to crop or not to crop. I have a lot of research to do.. lol..

Have a great day!

Suzie

Welcome from Ontario, Canada!! I have a female beauty with uncropped ears. I love dobes either way. It's your choice to make but please make sure you research good croppers in your area!!:butfly:

Welcome! Do you have pictures of your pup to share?

You have a very small window of time in which good croppers will do ears, so you'll need to make a decision pretty quick. If you do decide to crop, I highly recommend going with a cropper recommended here on DT - we've seen a lot of pretty terrible crop jobs when people don't do that. Cropping Dobermans is really an art and there are very few vets who can do it well.

Welcome from Washington!

If your girl didn't come already cropped from a reputable breeder, I wouldn't recommend getting it done. If you really want them done, ask DTers from your state if there are any great croppers within driving distance, and if there are, do it soon.
Good luck!

If you can find a good vet. to do the crop, while your dog is still young, do it. It will give the proper, proud Dobermann look.

As you probably know, the puppy is asleep during the procedure and once fully awake is usually ready to play without a thought as to the ears.

Welcome from Virginia.

If you do decide to crop, I would recommend Dr. Leigh McBride in Wildwood. She is reputable and widely used in Florida.

Hello and welcome to DTC.... Kisses to you duchess.. :)

You are right by doing some research whether to crop or not to ...and if you choose to crop her ears please be responsible and be patient for the maintenance is not that easy especially when taking care of the tapes.
