Yesterday, I picked up our new pup from Michelle Santana of Foxfire Dobermans. He is from the Foxfire Jada x Toedie (Toady) litter. They just turned 10 weeks old.

Michelle said he stacked beautifully, but was letting him go as a companion as he has 'refined bone'. Indeed, he's a lightweight guy at barely 16 lbs., so I need to get some weight on him.

We have named him Londo. He was a real trooper on the almost 450-mile trip home. He only whined for a few minutes in his crate last night and slept well. Londo is very alert, watchful, and is interacting well with the whole family (me, husband and 3 kids).

Love those Foxfire babies! Thanks for sharing, looking forward to watching this boy grow up :)

And remember, 16 may be small (I don't really think it sounds small for his age) but whatever weight is appropriate for HIS frame is appropriate for his age! I believe the line may be slow maturing- so don't put weight on him just to put weight on him! I don't see ANY reason from his pics to say he's underweight, and thin is better than chubby.

Thanks, I agree overall but Michelle wanted 2 extra pounds on him now.

he is adorable. But if Michelle said he is refined, that might be why he weighs 16 lbs. I would ONLY put weight on him if he is too skinny. Refined means not enough bone or lighter in bone, so overrall he may just be at the right weight and weigh less. He doesn't look too thin to me in that photo, but again sometimes it's hard to tell from photos.

congrats.
