We have a 3 year old male dob that we feed 100% raw (plus veg and fruits).

He has started licking himself (anywhere he can reach) until he creates a puddle or soaked himself completely. He's been doing this for the last year or two and I never thought anything of it, but thought I would ask a forum of dob owners their thoughts...?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to reply! :)

Just my opinion. Food and feeding is irrelevant. Dobermans are prone to many symptoms of OCD. Licking and suckling are one of the most common. In itself, it is not particularly detrimental. However, if it gets out of hand, it can lead to a host of problems. Lick Granulomas are nasty and hard to get a handle on.

While OCD is common, incessant licking is also often a sign of allergies, so I'd first want to rule that out. Have you spoken with your vet?
