So I got my puppy about a week ago and since the first day I've gotten him I've been constantly teaching him sit to the point now even on a busy environment he will sit. The problem is I am currently training to train him Heel but he will not get out of the sit position. He won't follow a treat or toy and if he starts to move he catches himself and sits again. Even if he's in another room and I call him he will come and automatically sit.

If luring doesn't work (using a treat or toy to get him to stand up or do whatever you're asking), then I would just be sure to treat and praise him any time he is standing or lying nicely. In other words, he's just doing something besides standing and you're rewarding him for it "nice stand!".
In time, I imagine he won't sit all the time anyway. It is fresh in his mind, so he's all about it now.
