Awesome, i really liked this lady when she replied. She seems like she really was in it for the breed and enjoyed taking the time to breed quality dogs. Is hepititus contageous between dogs? Im definatly going to get to know her some more, and hope to make a trip out to see her, if she would allow it, some time next year. thanks everyone.

My vet is willing to give me a reference letter, and im sure Cathy(lil arrow) will provide one along with many others in my neighborhood. i spent a lot of time with many people around here, and they know i treated him well. My manager said i can get another doberman, even though they are no longer accepted where i live.

awesome, thanks. even if i had the money, i dont think id be buying now, but i definatly want another. Dobes are like crack, it doesnt matter how much therapy you go through, you will always go back.:3dbiggrin
Tom, do yourself a favor. Take the money you were planning to use for your tattoo, find some to go with it and get a dog. Caring for and training the new one will allow you to remeber the good things about King without the hole you feel.

thats true...as much as you may want the tattoo...maybe its a good idea to save the money if money is an issue. when my childhood dog died...I didnt realize how important a dog in my life was...I was 17 when she died...and now it makes me want to take duchess everywhere and spend every moment with her and coco. If i had the money id want to go to more places with duch...lakes...cabins...travel...
jeez if id have the money I would be at the petstore everyday with her! haha
if you dont rescue, getting a dog from a reputable breeder is very much worth every penny...for the support...and you can be a little more at ease that you wont have so much in vet bills.
Hey...I just got an idea...I could perhaps paint or draw a picture of King for ya! no charge of course :)

Thats just it, i want a dog, but not right now. Id like to wait until i have enough money put away for medical bills. Sure id love to have another dog by my side all the time, but i didnt like when i had to pinch pennies to get tests done once my savings ran out. This time i will be better prepared, along with having a decent about of money for training and possibly agility and tracking. For now the tattoo will have to do. its something ive wanted to do since the king was about 9 months, and i cant think of any better reason to get it than this. Plus im already on the waiting list for the tatt and most local breeders have a 1 year+ waiting list.
