I adopted a 10 year old Dobie a little over 2 weeks ago. When he barks, it's hoarse, husky, and pretty quiet. We've never heard a clear or loud voice.
He's been to our vet for a thyroid re-check and is due to return in 2 weeks. The rescue group started him on thyroid meds the day before we picked him up. The only other physical issue he has is weakness in his hind end, including his rectum.
We know he came from a horrible hoarding situation, but any ideas about his voice? Could he have ruined vocal cords?
