Alot of people ask how to post a picture in the forum so I thought I would take a moment and create a small tutorial.

Okay the first thing you want to do is click on the Gallery button at the top of the site. When you get there you will see something similiar to the image below.

Click on the UPLOAD text. You will then be taken to the screen you see below

Click the Browse button to open a window where you can pick the file on your computer that you want to upload. If you have multiple photos just fill in each Browse box with a Photo.

As you can see from the screen above you need to fill in the Title, Description, and optional is a keyword used when searching the gallery.

One of the most important fields is the Category section. You must choose a category or the upload will fail. If you upload into the "Members Gallery" than the system will automatically either create a folder with your user name and put the picture there or if you already have a folder it will add it to it. If you upload into any other section it will not create a folder for you but it will upload the picture using your user name so there is no need to fill in the box "User Name"

After you have filled in all of the desired information hit the submit button. If everything was done correctly you will now be looking at your uploaded image. Congrats! you are almost done. :)

If you want to use that image on Forums or websites you will need the code to enter into your post to show your image.

At the bottom of your photo you will see the code available to you to use to display your picture. Simply copy and paste the code into your desired application. If it is forums you would use the BB image code, if it were on a website you would use the Direct Link code. Now all you have to do is copy the link into your Forum post and you are done.

If you need any further help please ask.

Was that English you were explaining that in!? lol I tried but I couldn't do it. Maddie will be a big girl before I figure it out. Is there a way to post from pics sent to me on my e-mail from my kids' digital cameras? I have some good pics...even talked Gracie into letting Maddie near her for a minute. Thanks, Linda

Well honestly I dont think it can get much easier than that. But I do understand not everyone is as good on computers as others. Please feel free to email me any pictures you want posted and I will see to it that they get into the gallery under your account. You can send them to [email protected]

Thanks

Another way and perhaps easier for some people is have a place like Photobucket host your picture. Then all you have to do is c&p the url.

Thanks for that offer. Someone (maybe my son?) put a picture on there. Now if I can't talk him into showing me I'll take you up on that. And you're right, I'm pretty much lucky just to be able to get on my laptop...but I'm trying to learn.

That makes it sound so simple! I'll have to give it a try and see if I can understand simple instructions!! I've tried to stick a photo into a forum space before and got totally lost, but if I can do it by these great instructions, then I'll be putting a photo in every now and again! Thanks TD!

Ok.. I tried putting Pyper's picture in one forum, but it was an attachment. I will 'test' your way on here and hope it works. One question though. Should the picture be a certain size or less than a certain size before you upload in the first place?
... Here it goes...

<img src="http://www.dobermantalk.com/gallery/files/1/1/1/ToEarly1.jpg" alt="ToEarly1" />

Ok, got it :dancing_b
For those of us (me, in particular) who can't read the instructions right, it is the middle path we copy.

Thanks for the help. Much appriciated.

The way to delete a photo is to click on that photo in the gallery to show it. Then you will see, on the right side, "Image Tools". Click on that and then go to "Edit Image". Inside that screen you will see the delete check boxes. Just check that box and hit the delete button. This will remove the picture. I deleted the extra picture for you. Boy is Java growing up nicely, what a pretty little girl...

I tried "test" posting a pic last night but do not find a "delete" option. Clicking on "Image Tools", then "Edit Image", only gives me choices of flipping image horizontally or vertically. Where is the "delete" box that I'm missing?

Sorry only Moderators or Administrators may delete photos.

You can PM a MOD with the link to the photo you would like deleted and they will take care of that for you.

Thanks

"If you need any further help please ask."

Thanks for that info. Do I understand this right? It seems that in order to post a picture into a post I'm making on the forum I have to first put it into my folder in the gallery?

And after I do that, how do I remove the photo from my gallery? I really want to know about removing pictures from the gallery as that is something I have been trying to do and not succeeding.
