Please let us know how he is doing.

One of the dog's in my extended family is dealing with kidney failure at the moment.
But the dog isn't ready to give up, and neither are the owners.
I have spent the last couple of days at the vet, mostly for emotional support.
It is such a hard situation.

Thanks.. Just tell your friends that no matter what the vet says that it is up to the dog when it is his time to go. It is never long enough but they need to spoil their dog till the very very end. Kohl lasted four months after he was diagnosed with kidney failure. In the end he died of (can't remember the name) but his tummy twisted from bloat. Hugs to your friends.. They have a very hard time ahead but it is worth the little time they have left.

Tell them just to feed him the KD wet food... I really think this helped extend Kohl's life for a short while. Hugs to them..

Thank you.

He has a port in his back for fluids. He seems to be doing okay, he likes to eat snow and he is eating his special food okay. It is a terrible situation. Their dog always has been spoiled, but even more so now. It is either genetic or he got into something they had no idea about.
Either way, knowing doesn't help the kiddo. He has such a fight in him, he isn't ready, and neither is his family.

Sorry to hear about your boy. I know it still hurts, you loved him so much, but you did what you could and hope he is now at peace and playing with the others at the bridge.

Geez, I totally missed the thread about Kohl. I am so very sorry to hear of his passing Oreokitty, I am sure you are missing him terribly.

Keep all the wonderful memories you have close to your heart and gove yourself plenty of time to heal. It's so hard when we lose one of these guys, they seem to take a peice of our hearts with them.

Thank you.. I am having good and bad moments.. Gosh just hug your puppies tight because in the end you depend on them more than they depend on you..

We will get another Doberman not for a while because we need to heal. I am just so happy that Kohl picked us for his parents..

The first time I held Kohl as a new puppy.. He peed on me. I knew he was mine forever. In my hands and in my heart..
