Hello everyone!!

I'm from Mississippi and I just got my very first Doberman.

The last dog I had in my household was a Jack Russell. I got it for my daughter when she was 5. We lived in a somewhat rural area and she really didn't have a playmate so I got her a dog. The JR died right before the start of her senior year in high school so I made the decision to wait until she went off to college and then I would get me a companion.

I'm enjoying him so far, but I will admit he is much more of a handful than I expected.

My daughter named her dog "Ace" after Ace Frehley so I thought I would keep the tradition and name mine after a musician. So I named my Doberman Waylon.

Thanks everyone for having me.

And another welcome from Colorado!

Doberman puppies are certainly handfuls, but they eventually calm down. The boys take a little longer than the girls to get their brain, but by the time they're two or so, they start to act a little more mature. (You think I'm kidding? >:))

Welcome to DT. Yep Doberman puppies are not for the faint of heart however with consistent and persistent training IMO they are the best

Hi Bravo. And Welcome to you and Waylon from the Pacific NW.

I have a friend who has a Boxer named John Cash and another who's dog is called "Willie Nelson".
All we need is a "Kris" and we could have a reunion tour of The Highwaymen. LOL

What would make a good Kris?

Maybe some kind of Terrier? 😁

Yeah, I'm a musician so you'll see a lot of country music references in my content.

He definitely is, much more than I expected. But he gets much better ever day.

Here are a few pics people were asking about.
