I have owned Dobes for 30 years.
What brought me here was I met a family that had a large male and they told me the breeder was Happy Dobermans in Lithia Fl.
5 years ago I bought a Beagle pup from a breeder in Lithia and it turned out the litter was dis-allowed(?) by AKC. I want to see if they had started breeding Dobes. Doesn't seem to be the same people but after some research, I'd never by a dog from them.

Hi from Virginia! Not too sure about the breeder you're talking about, hopefully others can help!
:wavey:
Welcome from Missouri and sorry to hear about your problems - I would do a google search for Happy Dobermans and see what you can find. You can also check the DPCA website and see if they are members of the breed club.

to add: Happy Doberman Parents
It does not appear that they do anything with their dogs and they do have a albino doberman pictured at the bottom. I hope they are not breeding their male to z factored as he has a decent pedigree.

Hello from TX!
@rick55fla

Hi! Are you looking for a Doberman to buy?
If so, we've talked about "Happy Dobermans" before on this site and "some of the members" made a suggestion of "Dobermans of Carosel" instead.

I am sure you can find the thread about "Happy Dobermans" on this site if you look around a bit.

I actually wrote a positive review about a black male from Happy Dobermans I had the pleasure of meeting.

However I don't know if the breeder does any of the health testing and the other members also pointed out she has an albino on her page which threw up red flags.

I hope I was helpfull!

Hello to all.
I am not looking for another right now. I have a 10yo female and a 2.5yo male.
He is an excellent specimen. My female was spayed as a pup. When we have to put down my female I want to breed my male for a replacement.

The male the I was talking about in my orig post was a big boy, but to look at his face it looked more Rot than Dobe.
Hi and Welcome to DT!!!

Hugz to your furkids.

do not breed a 'replacement' Dobe. :) If at anytime in the future you want another Dobie.............Adopt one. Rescues are the BEST!

What kind of things have you done with your male? Showing, performance, working, etc.? Have you started his health testing yet and is his pedigree tested?

We have our dogs are for companionship and home security. Our lives are to hectic to show right now. We researched the parents pedigrees before we bought him after the problem we had with the Beagle. I won't breed him just to do it. Too many people just looking to make a buck.

That's a great reason to own this wonderful breed but not a good enough reason to breed. Maybe you can get started in some of the venues I listed and health testing and reconsider breeding him until you at least get that done. That is what reputable breeders do.
