I actually joined DT a while back and was hoping to get some pictures of my boy with his new handler, Carmen Ruby. We do have a show next weekend. Anyway, I've owned a total of 4 dobe boys since 1973. I did some limited showing with my last boy, Baron, a Talon son in 1995. Too busy with a career then to continue.

Now that I am retired, I started showing a little last year again with my new guy Emerald's Excalibur ex. Tijac, call name Rex, by ChOtch Royalwood Extravert v LegendUDX2 RN ROM and out of Ch Tijac Victoria's Secret NAP NJP NAJ ROM. Bred by Cathy Ceely, Tim O'Brien and Jackie O"Brien Rex won 12 puppy classes last year. With very limited showing this a year a couple of open black classes. Carmen just started showing him. He has also be expertly presented in the show ring by Cathy Ceely and Renee Holth. If everything works out with Talon's last vial, I hope beyond hope to get a Talon daughter next year.

My other lifelong passion is Arabian Horses.

If I don't get new pics next weekend, I promise to post a couple of the ones I have. I may be calling on Tracy for some help posting.

Hi Robin and Welcome to DT!

I love Arabians too. Ever since reading the Walter Farley books as a kid.

Posting pictures is really easy. I suggest you use a free site like Photobucket.com to host them, and then you can just copy and paste links to here. Can't wait to see your boy!

In the early 70's I kept seeing Dobes at the Arabian Horse shows and that's what started my love for dobes. Had one every since except those times after the old boys went to the bridge. I should have mentioned that I was also blessed to have an old Lab live with me from 2000 to last spring. He was owned by my father's WWII buddy and came to me when he passed. I was concerned at first because I had Baron but both were neutered and turned into best buddies. I would sleep in the middle! And the old Lab helped me raise Rex as a puppy.
Welcome Robin!!! See you at the shows!!

Welcome to DT Robin. My horse is Bandit, a 13-year old American Paint Horse Gelding, and quite a character....much like the Dragonman and Valor... I look forward to see you at a show later this summer or fall. Tracy

Hi Robin.
I will be in Puyallup to help Cathy following her accident. I can't wait to see you and "Uncle Rex". Carmen is a lovely handler and I look forward to seeing the two of them in the ring together. Good luck to the WHOLE family.

Welcome Robin. Good luck, we have to get up early.... yawn.

Welcome Robin! I am enjoying your stories about your Doberboys. I would love to see some pictures of your guys. My silly male is on his back right now, grinning, wanting attention. Such hams they can be!

To avoid any confusion:

My boy Rex, Emerald's Excalibur ex Tijac, was bred by Cathy Ceely, Tim O'Brien and Jackie O'Brien. He has been expertly presented in the show ring by Cathy Ceely, Renee Holth and Carmen Ruby. He is proudly owned by Robin Barton
He is very handsome Robin... what does he need to finish?

Thanks for your comments. Rex has had very limited showing and I have to say he is sort of a mama's boy, and while he had done nothing stupid or bad in the show ring, so far he's pulled all the little head shaking, moving feet, puppy goofy stuff there is too pull, plus waits until he's in the ring to pull silly little stunts. Oh looking for me while in the ring. If my ultimate goal was for him to finish fast I would put him out with someone. Since he is my only child and I love him dearly, I am taking the slow path with him. At this point he is not pointed but I think he's not that far off either. I especially want to thank Renee Holth for all her hard work and time spent helping me. Renee is not a professional but a great friend to both me and Rex. If Renee has a fault it is that she sells herself a little short. Renee and Mike bred his sire X'tra. Carmen does not show a lot of Dobermans and can give Rex the extra time prior to going in the ring with him. He's still sort of a big puppy in a lot of ways, but just a joy to live with.
