Hello!

Just wanted to introduce my little family here. First time dobe owner. Long time dog lover. My girlfriend and I just bought a red/rust male pup, just about 8 weeks old. His name is Loki. We also have another dog named Chewy (dachshund mix / 8 years). I haven't been able to take a good picture of Loki when hes awake, so the best I can do is when hes sleeping. More pictures will come. First 2 pictures are Chewy and last 2 are Loki

I looked at the pictures first and thought, "uh... how do we break it to this guy that what he has is a dachshund??"

Then I saw the dobie and read your post, lol! Welcome from Tyler/Austin! We have a ton of Texans on this forum :] Congrats on your new baby and thanks for the pictures, we love pictures here

I love that they match

Welcome from Houston! I love road trips to San Antonio because I always stop at Oakridge Smokehouse for some good jerky!

Oh BTW red dobes are the best ;D

We have a large doberman meet up group in houston, if you're ever in the area with your pup i'm sure a play date could be arranged!

Trust me, when Loki grows to 4X the size of Chewy the little older guy will still be running the show! That's how it with my older ChiTerrier mix and Spock!

haha yeah! he's already letting him know who's the boss. He's such a grumpy old man.

Welcome! Congrats on your new puppy.

You may want to do some reading on male/male aggression which is pretty common in our breed. Often as male Dobermans mature they will not tolerate other males of any breed, whether either of them are neutered or not. You'll want to be very aware of watching for that as your pup matures.
