Hello from Aggieland! I'm new to posting on the forums but I've been reading around for years..

I have fostered dobies for several different organizations for years - but I have finally have my own! We just couldn't say no.. He has the greatest temperment and is such a joy to have around. He is almost 4 months now (whelped 06/26/11). We had his ears cropped by Dr. Crouch in Katy, TX (thanks to all of the positive reviews I've heard of on here and from his breeder) when he was 11 weeks old. I'll try and include pictures of him before and after the crop..

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and thank you to everyone for sharing their knowledge on these forums because I use them to further my education on the joys of owning a doberman! We just love our 'little' guy.. :)

PS. I am having some trouble posting his ears - which I have posted in another thread.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Your dobies are beautiful - great pictures! I just added some pictures of him on my original post.. However, his most recent is on my other thread under ear posting help

I would like to think we're doing *ok* with our first posting (especially with all of the set-backs [infections] we've experienced with him) but I still have a few questions.. I'd rather ask sooner than later! He's 17 wks now.. but who knows - I could be all wrong and not even know it! :confused2

This is a picture of him inbetween wrappings 2 weeks ago. Notice the infection along the edges of his ears?

This was about a week ago - the other ear is leaning in on this wrap

Welcome from Virginia! You need to get some help with that one ear or a pocket is going to form at the bottom...Also, if his ears are infected along the edges, you need to leave them down a bit and let them heal before taping them back up.

Those pictures were a bit outdated. Since then, we have gotten him medication/ointment for the infection, doctored them w/o posts for almost two weeks, and finally started reposting them a few days ago.. Hopefully we wont have any set-backs from here on out!

Here is a more recent picture of him from earlier this evening:

..Sometimes I think I'm turning into my mother with all the pictures of my 'kid'.. ;)

..some are a tad bit 'over the top', but he's so tolerant of everything I have him try on :)
