Thank you yes. I am keeping her quiet as possible. Funny thing is - it is never during any time of excitement that the collapses happen. Last night she was walking into house from dog run to do her business and down she went. I鈥檓 grateful she recovered. It鈥檚 so scary to witness. I just ran to her, held her, and said 鈥淚鈥檝e got you baby I鈥檝e got you it鈥檚 ok鈥. It鈥檚 scary for her and my standard poodle bc they know something is seriously wrong but can鈥檛 understand it all. Ughhhh it鈥檚 torture 馃惥馃挃馃惥

Hi Fiona's Mom, is there an update on how your girl is doing? Your in my thoughts after reading this thread, and just recently been down the road of losing my dear dobie to DCM/CHF.

Awe thank you. Yes. She has now been to the cardiologist and same diagnosis. She has had a few less severe collapse episodes and one doozy. She is now starting to have wheezing spells where she has labored wheezing like breathing which means the heart issue is progressing 馃挃馃惥馃挃. I never leave her alone. I鈥檓 working from home but when my husband or I cannot be here my niece comes to sit with the pups. It is torture knowing it is coming. I made a promise she will not be alone when her time comes. Thank you for checking in on us 馃

You're in my thoughts and prayers. It is a very difficult and heart wrenching road. I lost my baby an 8 y,o. male to CHF two weeks ago. I did the same -- not leaving him alone and show him all the way. He passed away in my arms. I love Doberman Pinscher but it'll take a while before I get another Dobie baby to love and care for. Hugs to you and your girl.

Oh my! I am so sorry for your loss! Dogs are by far better than us humans. They just do not live long enough but love unconditionally for a lifetime. I do hope you open your heart to another dog (Dobie or other breed) because their love is too special. 馃惥馃挃馃惥馃挃 e-hugs and prayers to you (and everyone on this site). We are all here bc a Doberman touched our lives.
