And for fun, two videos shot on his birthday - him and Scout playing in the new backyard. We don't have the front yard fenced yet.

Starts off with Scout's casual I'm just sniffing slowly heeeere.... GO! Also please note the "wait UP" whine by Si when she is leaving him in the dust.

Ooo- I like that one. Meltface Master!

Which reminds me of - guess what? Another photo. Yep. I know, it's hard to believe that Erica would post any photos of her dogs at all, let alone this many. (And I know you've seen all of these, so bear with me - it's his birthday, for cripes sake.)

But I looooove this meltface shot.
(Cutest face ever)

And one year ago, he had his surgery. But he healed up like a champ!
(Saddest face ever)

OK. Done. For now.

Happy Birthday Silas!!!!

Quincy hopes you had more fun and treats than he did on his.
Well that wouldn't take much with your grinch of a dad, now would it Q?

He got a turkey neck dinner, lots of treats throughout the day, running around off leash with Scout, a new squeaky ball, a flirt pole (huge hit) and lots of lovin. My tradition with my dogs on bdays is to do a kiddie size vanilla dish from DQ, but I didn't do it Saturday, and forgot on Sunday. Maybe we'll make up for that this week. :D

He developed an esophageal abscess and had to have it removed/drained. They tried to go in one side but couldn't access it so had to do the other side also (he drain side). We're still not sure why or how it happened. Possibly foxtail seed or...??

And yes, you can't see the incisions at all. Amazing, huh? Especially the non-drain side, as they stitched it up quickly because they werent expecting having to go in the other side and keep him under that long. So it was always thicker and less pretty. I massaged a lot, used vit E oil and lavender oil (recommended on DT) for healing. Not sure if they helped but I always have my patients do scar massage, so I'm sure at least that helped some. That, and the fact that he's young and healthy otherwise. ;)
