So my husband called me a few days ago and told me the housing we were getting on base would only allow one dog under 35 lbs. Because he's still just E3 (he just got out of MOS school) in order for them to reimburse any of the move I had to be there within 30 days of him arriving at his new post. This was unexpected and was not going to allow us time to find a rental off base. I thought I was going to have to leave Whiskey behind.
It was going to be hard but it would have worked out. A DT member from the area had stepped up and offered to keep him for me until I could get appropriate housing and then she would ship him to me. I can't express my thanks and gratitude to this community as a whole for coming together and for educating and helping one another. However, I got the news today that we have been approved for housing that accepts 2 dogs and no weight limit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A big shout out to MeganUK who was going to open her heart and home to my boy. I'll never forget that kindness and I do hope we can keep in touch.
Thanks Megan and thanks DT!
