Hi everyone

Just found out today that the guy who ran the puppy farm where Wez is from was convicted of animal cruelty today and all his animals were rescued. He had 21 dobes in total plus 6 huskies and 10 lasas. Horrible man. On a sad note poor Wez's mum had to be pts as she was so weak she couldn't survive. I'm so glad we rescued Wez and took the chance with him :dancing_b

I know it is so horrible, should put him in the situation his dogs were in ggrrrrrr that would teach him a lesson.

Bad bad man! I bet wez is soooo happy to have a home with you! It makes me so sad when any breed is in bad situation or environment but when it comes to having 21 of our dobes in one poor environment makes me so upset. I wish we could save or atleast find awesome homes for every Dobe or all the dogs in need. Well Wez will grow up to be nice and strong since he has such a good owner

Did anyone see the thing on HBO about a month ago called "Dog Dealers"?
THis guy had hundreds of dogs that he picked up off the street, bought cheap from the pound, or just stole outright. Then he would kennel them, and sell them to a labratory. A cop went undercover for a yr. as one of his dog-wranglers. He finally had to quit cuz he couldnt take mistreating the dogs anymore. They did horrible things to those poor dogs:sadcry: It was almost too much to watch. But after about 2 yrs. they finally convicted the guy, he lost all his property and had to pay over a million dollars in fines and stuff.
He was the local pastor.

So glad that justice has been served. I'm sorry for Wez's mom and the rest that have died under his cruel hands but am glad the others have been rescued.
I haven't seen that special Flash, but I've heard that it was pretty gruesome and awful to watch...

It was pretty disgusting. Its amazing what ppl are capable of. If it ever came on again I dont think I would watch it even if it was to see the begining that I missed.

why did it take 2 years!?!?!?! it sounds like they would have had enough on him to put him away after a week or so? how many poor dogs had to suffer during those 2 years??!!

Well I'm very happy to hear he was convicted. But I'm sorry to hear about Wes's mom That's so sad. I don't know how ANYONE could hurt any kind of animal. I'm really glad you were able to get Wes out of the situation and have done such a wonderful job with him.

The story of Wez lots of pics

Hi guys here is the full story of how I got Wez.......
He was born on the 25th Jan 2006. My friend worked at the kennels where he was bred but she had handed in her notice because of the conditions. She told me that there was a litter of dobes due any day and that the 'breeder' was going to drown them because the bitch couldnt produce milk and he wouldn't let my friend take them and hand rear them. I told her that if she could get on I would have a go afterall they are going to die if they stay. It was getting more and more unlikly that she could get the pups as the guy lived on the site and was checking the bitch every hour. My friend was off work and i had given up hope when she phoned me to tell me that she had managed to get the last remaining pup. The guy had gone to get the paper and the other member had phoned my friend to tell her that the pups had been born. She had to put him in her pocket and ran.
Her husband drove her to mine which took 2 hrs. Wez was wrapped up n a blanket and was soo tiny ....
He still had his cord attached so i tied it up and cut it and got him setteled in a nice warm bed. We had to feed him every hour cos he was so small I really didnt think he would make it through the night, but he did.

We had to do everything for him, which was hard having 3 kids under 4 but we managed and it has all paid off.

It has been hard work, but so worth it and i'm so happy I found this forum its been great

That is such a wonderful story, you really saved his life. I am sure that he will be forever grateful. I hope that the horrible man who bred him rots in jail for it.

Keep up the good work, from the looks of him...it looks like you have done great. He will be your loyal companion from now on...

vikki: I just love that ear of his! he is definitley on my list of dobes that need to come live with me.

I nominate you for hero of the day (if not the year) and your friends fro saving his life. There should be lots more folks like you and lots less of the person who bred him.

Please keep us posted on how much jail time he gets. too bad there's no death penalty. this is one case where I would be happy to pull the switch.

You said he was the last puppy...Did the other puppies make it?
If he was the only one Im sure Wez's mom loves you soooo much for saving her last pup.

oh wow--I'm almost in tears here That's such a sad story but has such a GREAT ending. I just can't believe someone would try to do that That's awful. I'm so glad your friend had someone call her and she was able to get Wes to you. Goodness, reading that just made my stomach do a 360. Poor other puppies. I hate when ppl do crap like this. I mean, what's the point? Do they get joy from it? How do they sleep at nite knowing this? ugh. I hope he rots in that jail cell.

I have to really say you are the most amazing person ever to raise this little guy and have 3 kids under 4!!! My first reaction would be "Woman, are you INSANE?" LOL but of course that's because I've had 2 kids under 4 before and MAN it wasn't easy. But you did it and you raised a cute little guy there

Wow thanks guys it has been hard but its so worth it. Just found out he got 2yrs and a £5000 fine as well as not being able to keep any animals

Well, I'm glad to hear that he has been arrested. Hopefully, he will get more than a slap on the wrist, but I won't hold my breath.

You are doing a good thing....and isn't it amazing that by doing something good for something so helpless....you end up being the one feeling grateful?? I know that is how I felt after fostering puppies for rescue...never had one that young!!
