Garrets Dobermans St Louis

I thought I would post this site as I find it ridiculous now that I know important things to look for in a breeder (thanks DT!). When I started my search for a pup, these "breeders" came up as I was looking for something around STL area. Thank goddess I knew something was off and followed my gut feeling. I do not see any mention of health testing, no titles, etc. But they are raised as family pets! (you know, because that pays vet bills and makes it better when they end up in shelters). I'm not experienced to really comment on confirmation but even I could tell that the dogs they have posted are not comparable to reputable lines/breeders. It's also equally disturbing all the "awards" that are at the bottom of the page, more to convince the novice newbie of their awesomeness (sarcasm). Oh and the cost of a family raised pup?? $1800-2300. On second thought I am not going to post the link, as I'm not sure on the exact etiquette since I'm sure they will soon have pups for sale. Just wanted to make sure that future newbies see this thread on DT and know to stay away....far, far away. So DT, check them out and tell me your opinion so others don't potentially get blinded by the shininess of their awards and contribute. OR tell me I'm wrong, after all, I am a newbie myself :) Also, moderators if I shouldn't post the way I did please let me know. Thanks all!

Lol, thanks for the correction jdd ;) That's what I get for not reading the threads before posting.
I did more research on their pedigrees....Wanna guess what's on there several times over?? Kimbertal TADA! Here's a quote off of their website:

Pups handled outside of the Garretts home are raised with mom for 7 weeks. When the pups are 7 to 8 weeks old, placement of the pups begins. If an owner lives close enough to the litter's home site, then the owner may directly pick the pup up.

there's a Barrington bitch on the website that was breed 6 times before being allowed to "retire" and can now stay in the house...yes, it says that. They all look overweight and their ears are bad, bad, bad. There are currently no puppies for sale, so I'm going to risk being moderated and post the website address. Please delete if I am in the wrong and I'm sorry!

I hate this breeder. I've seen the site multiple times and I met somebody with one of their dogs once. The ears definitely were not pretty and this dog definitely wasn't built right. It was a little weird around the other dogs at the dog park, however, that could be due to the dog's current owners and not the breeders.

I want to know what the vizsla colored "doberman" puppies from a few years back grew up to look like.

Not like Dobermans. Look through their past puppies pages and there are a few pics of them as adolescents. I just can't believe they would try to sell them as fawns. The fawn coloring in other breeds isn't even that dark.
I've seen the one in tx before. Pathetic. Vizsla colored? Could someone post a pic?? I couldn't find one.

This was in a past Garrett thread. As they got older they got more Vizsla-like. I don't want to dig through their site (again) to find it, however.

Edit: I lied, I dug through it. Here you go: http://www.garrettsdobermans.com/amb1_FF_PkG.html

Well crap, if I would have done more research I would have saw the TX on one page...they come up under St Louis search also for some reason...SORRY!!!! I'm going to go pull the covers up over my head now.
Oh my goodness, I was just looking through some other their "solid" color Dobermans and they have zip ties on the puppies freaking necks!!!!!! I tried getting a zip tie bracelet trend going in high school, but we all kept accidentally tightening them on our wrists and then couldn't get them off. I can't imagine what would happen if one tightened on a poor puppy's neck. Here's the link: Garrett's Dobermans Puppy Site
the whole site is just sick :vomit-smi
Did anyone report them to the akc for selling mixed breed puppies as dobermans?
AKC doesnt give a flip about those black nosed vizsla colored pups being registered as purebred fawn dobermans either. I believe it was jdd who reported those mutt puppies being registered as dobermans. Last thread, with pups picture posted, there was some discussion about the papers being revoked on vizsla colored pups and them not being registerable. So I emailed Garretts and asked if the solid red male pup was registered. They jumped all over my email, saying yes and wanting my phone number so we could discuss the puppy.

No way those puppies are purebred Dobermans.
And their current dogs are great examples of why you should title your dogs before breeding. They barely look like dobermans, with their bad crops, strange colored eyes and weird markings.
I bet they think they're doing the breed a favor.
