Not the most encouraging news to ever read - but it is kind of nifty that our dogs are like 2nd cousins

I truly doubt this island has ever seen a holter monitor much less provides them for testing - will put that on my list of things to do when we return to the US. Thanks for the info
I really doubt you could find a doberman anywhere in the world that *doesn't* have DCM involvement somewhere in a 4-5 generation pedigree..so you're in good company.
Holter monitors have their value, but we really can't rely on them alone to do cardiac screening. Echocardiograms measure the actual diameters of the cardiac walls and efficiency of the valves-and that's just as important as trying to find rhythm disturbances with a Holter.
Actually, my puppy was supposed to be sired by Ch. Neuvelle Vendome Hidden Dragon..her dam was bred to him during one heat period, but missed. The breeder lives in Alaska, and it proved too difficult to arrange getting the bitch down here to southern CA to repeat the breeding. So instead, she was bred to a Hidden Dragon son, Ch. Foxfire's Dragon's Lair.
Here's a picture of her at 7 months of age..no recent ones, unfortunately..she's 10 months old now.
