Ok, this is becoming a problem! Obviously, little Sophie is really putting her Rat Terrier skills to work. Now, that is all well and good. She scours the property, finds a rodent of some kind.. kills with one bite! YAY for her! This IS progress for my little rescue Rat..

But, she deposits her kills under the deck! **panic** "I" am unable to get under there....

We bought some lattice work material months ago.. to put around the bottom of the deck. We wanted to keep Sophie out. She was hiding under there. No 'deposits' then.. just sitting under there being paranoid.

Ever since we got Leia though.. she has been killin' rascals left and right.

She has no care or desire to gnaw or eat on what she kills.. but, Leia sure does!!!! I have been BEGGING my husband to get the work done. So far, no progress.

A while ago, I let Sophie and Leia out to tinkle. When I called, both came running.. Leia had a dead mouse in her mouth. She came from under the deck! SHEEESH!

I'm ranting.. sorry. But, if ANYONE has some magical word that would motivate the husband to get the work done so that Leia can NOT go under the deck...I sure would appreciate it!

Put a wire cage around the dead thing under the deck so the dogs can't get it, and then leave it there until it starts to stink!

Drastic, I know.

Tell him you are hiring a handyman to do the work and you need a large amount of cash to pay him.

Uh......scraping the bottom here....but I empathize with you. If anything of that sort needs to be done around here, I get to do it.

I always threaten to do it myself and then go in the garage and open and close drawers to the tool thing and he comes running out. Keep in mind when I talk to him he's deaf as a post, but he can hear the tool thing open and close. Yes, after 31 years we still do this dance.

Start leaving her gifts for him, somewhere he cant avoid them and tell him he will continue to get them until the work is done!

That used to work.. but, I am not able any longer. And, he knows it.

We're at our 32 year in Dec. :D

"Boy, if I were physically able to.. I would do it!"

I know what you mean--the other day I had to fix something in the back of the dishwasher--I wasn't sure exactly what was wrong so it took me a couple of hours to do the job.

Between sitting on the floor or crouching halfway on my knees, reaching over the open door of the dishwasher and stretching to reach to the back wall of the thing, I could barely move the next couple of days.

But the dishwasher works again! Not much recognition from anyone else though (probably because I'm the only one who uses the thing)--I had to be proud of my job all by myself.

That's awesome! For what it's worth.. I'm proud of you! :D
