Can you post pictures? What type of crop is it?
I would personally not give up and would continue to post.

What age was he cropped, and how long have you been posting already?

How long do you leave the posts in at a time?

and a picture would help a ton if you can manage................

I am no ear expert, but the answers to these questions may help the pros give you advice when they come to the thread :)

It does not look long to me either. How long did you stop posting for? You can do permanent damage if left to long and the ear will never stand.

I've know of rescue dogs who came in at well over a year with both ears down and some of the rescue people have had success with getting ears up that were never taped.

You can't quit taping an ear that isn't standing just because the ear gets sore from the tape. There are techniques for taping that will help that and it also helps if you use something to unstick the tape before you try to take it off the ear. I know that with some dogs all you have to do is just peel it off but some dogs have tender skin and you need to use a solvent or at least do something like rubbing any sort of cooking oil under the edges of the tape and slowly massaging the tape off of the ear.

If the ear ever stood--or even partly stood you can probably still get it to stand but you have to be persistent on the taping and can't just do it off and on.
