If you go to a talented ear cropping vet (and that's the only kind to use), then they should be able to do that on their own, without pictures. The only decision the owner really needs to make is the length.TracyJo said:Good one Brum,
I just thought of this as I was looking through the pics in this thread. I love Oscar's ears and Duchess is gorgeous but her ears wouldn't suit him or vice versa... Do you think it would be a good idea to pick out a few different styles for the vet to look at and then the two of you could decide which one would best suit this pup at maturity?

That is the response I received as well with Orson.......I got to give imput and ask for medium, but the final details were decided by the vet. I read many things online and in books that said "be specific with your breeder/vet as to the kind of ear you want" I was a little surprised when I was told that only the length would be my decision. Thankfully for you, your vet sounds more cooperative, after all it is you who will be paying the bill and raising the pup afterwards!Okie-dobie said:Very true, I had some pictures for the breeder and she said she would take them into consideration but the vet would ultimately be the one to decide. I guess because they look at the shape of the face and head and what would look best based on the dog.
