I am glad everything is working out good. Just wondering, do they often get a chance to run around in a more open area like a field? I think that would help as when they have more room to run they are more comfortable and it will tire them both out especially Duchess..lol

well our backyard is pretty big...i mean not big but not small...I use to take her to the dog park...but I havent recently...but will again once we get her on something for ticks. Coco...we can't take to any open fields to run free ....unless we get him the greyhound type basket muzzle so he can breath fine still. It is hard to take them together if it is just me...cause I have to watch Coco real close cause he gets scared...but like I said I use to and LOVE to take duch to the dog park.
here is a pretty good idea of the yard we have...there is a little more to it...if i could extend the picture to make the whole yard fit there would probably be about 3 inches more on each side

Something that happened in our training class reminded me of this and I wanted to add some of the behavior I saw today. It was during our call outs of play session as I mentioned earlier in this thread. Well today, the dog that Nikki played alittle rough with was not there, so she played with "Maggie" a 3 yr old Golden. Nikki tried the same thing with Maggie, but Maggie didn't like it and told Nikki "No". Nikki got the message really quick and the whole dynamics changed. Nikki stopped the rough behavior and went to Maggie, initiated play bows and puppy like barks and initiate the play session again. This time Nikki was not playing rough and being the chaser all the time. They switched back and forth of being the chaser and the chasee. Each time Maggie would stop playing, Nikki did the play bows and puppy like bark to get the play session going again. Once Maggie set the ground rules and told Nikki what she didn't like, Nikki obliged just to keep the play session going. It was very nice to see the two of them playing in harmony.
