Hi

Does anyone know if a cropped & docked Doberman would be allowed to compete in France ?

I can't tell you for sure, but Google seems to indicate that yes, they can be shown:

Equinox Perm ® Kennels - Doberman and Miniature Pinscher Breeding Kennel in B.C. Canada

Some German sites seem to indicate that some people take their dogs to France for cropping and docking (which is illegal in Germany), so that would be another indicator that it would be possible.

(P.S. And I apologize if these are not "reputable" sites - I have no idea about that, just trying to help with information. (If you find a French site, I'll be happy to help translate.))

I would think you could just ask?

Site Officiel du DOBERMANN CLUB DE FRANCE

Can't find that information on the site at first glance ...

(Note: If you don't speak enough French, you can write them in English. English is mandatory in European schools, so you should get a reply. If you get a French reply, let me know and I'll help translate.)

FOUND IT:

Any dogs born in France or abroad after April 30, 2004 with cropped ears may not compete or be shown in France ... "

It also says docking is still legal (French asked for an exception)

It continues:

Chiens à oreilles coupées nés après le 30 avril 2004 : (dogs with cropped ears born after April 30, 2004)
