Last night i got hit by a Doberman Torpedo:sadcry: We were over the field and we have been letting not so little Misch have a bit of a run,well she was chasing Tia everywhere and hit me straight on the back of my legs and sprained my left ankle,I'm sure a torpedo doesn't go that darn fast.hope the limp has gone by the weekend as i have a double header of shows.

Ouch!! It really hurts when they do that. Abbie always crashes into me, as soon as she gets her speed up she loses all steering! You'll have to get your junior handler for the weekend!

I know Bruno is a big brut when he's out running. Always gotta remind the kids to stay clear cuz he'll run into anything in his path lol. The speed he goes, it's gonna hurt if you get in his way LOL

Ohhhh....I hate it when that happens. Hey, it could have been worse...they could have BOTH run into you! I have learned to just slightly bend at the knee anytime the dogs are running around me...I have literally been knocked off my feet more than once by Rommel. Ziris is even worse than he is...she just weighs less!

Brum, boy can I relate to that. I'm just now able to walk without limping. Gaston & Roxy were playing(the zoomies) and were heading down the hall one of them(not sure which one)hit me in the back of my left leg causing an immediate charlie horse. I about fell over from the pain and that muscle is still a little tender. I like the description of "Doberman Torpedo" it sure does fit!!!!

yikes! hope your okay especially in time for the shows! that happened to me when I was younger...I was running with one of my dogs and then my dalmatian came and hit me in the front of the legs...so i did this flip over her...hurt my hip a little bit.

Oh ouch!! They are so strong and get going when they play! I stand outside with bended knees also - LOL!! I don't think that would have helped in your situation though. Hope you are sound for this weekend!

Hope you're on the mend fast! Why is it that dogs can whip around thru the trees at the dog park anmc come out without a scratch, and yet get a group of humans on clear pavement and someone almost always gets taken out??

My 6 year old son has been torpedoed several times by Harley. Each time Harley was looking backward as he was running forward! I have been amazed at my son's resiliency. Each time he popped right back and dusted himself off.

Harley also torpedoed a tree once (again looking backward while running forward). Note to all Dobermans out there: I know you all have absolutely no fear, but trees are torpedo-proof. I thought I was going to have to bring Harley to the vet. However, after about 30 seconds of loud wailing and standing absolutely still (it felt like 10 minutes to me), he started to walk it off. Within 10 minutes, he was zooming around again. But nowhere near the trees (he's not a fool)!

I guess young fellas in all species have really soft bones and joints! I witnessed each one of these incidents and I don't think I would have been fully functional for days if I were on the receiving end.

probably because they know they will lose the battle with a tree...lol but humans they dont have to worry about losing to lol

Ouch! Brum, you *were* lucky she hit you from the rear, tho!

I had Razzle at a local park for a playdate with another dobe one day. His owner and I were walking along..Razzle forgot to look where she was going, and ran head on into my friend at a dead run, hitting her square right below the knee...WHACK! My friend went flying, and it was serious business. It turned out the bone was chipped and there were all sorts of ligament and muscle tears. My friend was in a cast for about 2 months...I was just humiliated and horrified. The injury was bad enough that the doc at the ER asked my friend if the dog survived the impact!
