Doberman magazine???

I just visited my local petsmart. I keep tryin to find a book on Dobermans. They have not had one when I go in, I ask the employees and they say they don't know of any. I walk to the check-out stand and I see 10 , yes 10 different mags of different breeds and types i.e. Bully Trainer, a Boxer mag and how to train them, a Rotti mag. I don't understand why there is not an abundance of Doberman literature. I know I am bias, but there is even a mag about pits. Now I don't HATE any breed. but pits have the worst rep, and if Dobis can't get a mag, why do these other breeds have them? I know i sound like the little brother that doesn't do what the big brother does. Although, I have bought 2 from different store. I found a 3rd for 50 bucks at another store. That was a little too pricey for me. The other two say basically the same thing. Although one has champions as pictures. Does anyone know of any mags?

occasionally you can pick up a magazine like dog fancy with a cover article on dobes, not really as detailed an article or publication as most people would want. there are a number of good books that have been reccomended by members here, a personal favorite of mine is Doberman Pinscher: Brains and Beauty by Joanna walker

Go on Amazon and do a search....and you will get the books a whole lot cheaper.

Don't forget to check the library! I just borrowed that book last week from mine and it is amazing! The depth, the history, it's a lot more than what you'd find in those generalized 50 page dog breed books.

Luckily, when I adopted Rudi June 2005, we made a trip to Petsmart....they had a Dobe magazine right there at the checkout.

They dont have dobe magazines at any of the pet stores near me either

I did just get the Doberman Ring though. It is a really nice magazine.

I feel your pain, Dukes. I was thinking the exact same thing when I was at Petco last week. If they had a Doberman magazine, I totally would've bought it.

I've bought a couple books through Amazon, or from Borders, but none of them were spectacular.

I would like to subscribe to a magazine. But what do they have in them? Is it worth it to look into? I just don't know what they can put in to keep me interested. DOes anyone have a subsription and really enjoy it? Do you like the msg backinblack?

I finally found a Doberman magazine at a Pet Supplies Plus today. It's from the editor of Dog Fancy magazine, the Popular Dog Series, volume 18. It was $9.99 but it was worth it!

Doberman Digest is a subscription you can get but it's pretty expensive. Amazon.com has a few books specifically for Dobes and they aren't to expensive

I bought that magazine 3 years ago when I first got Abby. A new petsmart opened up in town and they had magazines on a couple dozen breeds. Haven't seen any new ones since then though.

We also have that magazine. The edition about the specific breeds is not an ongoing magazine as far as changing articles. I wish it was I would absoutley love to get that magazine in a subscription.

Ah, my bad - I didn't realize it was a one-time thing. I thought I'd found a good subscribable magazine

It was a good one though - I enjoyed all the pics.

I know what magazines you are talking about. The one shown above is it. The last Doberman one they did was like 2000 or so. German Shepherds are the only one that has had an updated version made recently. These magazines are made by Dog Fancy.
