Just a quick question, is your dobermans chin smooth (under side of lower jaw), diesel is quick bumpy and seem very low on hair, is this normal?

Sabot had that a little bit...I think it was either a food allergy or puberty, lol
Went through that with Chi a few months back - It got really bumpy and lost almost all hair - I kept the area clean by washing it with Listerine 2x's a day after she ate. It took a few weeks but it finally cleared up.
Chin acne isn't at all uncommon with dobermans, especially adolescent ones. Keep the chin as clean as possible, also if you're using plastic bowls, switch to stainless steel.
Yep it's pretty common, cleaning with any antiseptic after eating will help,we use tea tree oil wipes or hibiscrub(surgeons hand cleanser) diluted.
We had the same problem with both of our boys. My husband would put some hydrogen peroxide on a paper towel and dab the chin everyday. Before you know it, it will be cleared up.
Thanks, for the responses.

Every day I think he is just like a child or troubled teenager...
all my dogs went through that also..just treat it like acne in people and it will clear up.. I still have problems with Raven but she is a licker and is always cleaning herself like a cat so that does not help..
I still wipe Cole's chin after he eats. Although he is not a ravenous eater, he is a bit messy.

Mine immediately come over and wipe their chins off on ME, saving me the trouble of doing it for them. :)

Yep, yep. Another reason for wiping after eating. I learned the hard way. Was all gussied up for a big meeting at work with clients. And Cole was a pup, had just finished his breakfast and when his dad let him in from outside (he sometimes eats outside in the summer; he likes eating outside) he ran right to his momma and wiped his mouth on me. Dad was not quick enough to warn me that Cole needed his mouth wiped. Oh well. Now, I wear jeans everyday unless I am meeting with clients.

Its funny you say that...everyone at works says I talk about my two like they are kids and I kindly remind them that they are. They are my kids!:dancing_b

I'll second that. My mom thinks I am nuts. She said I should never have kids because I would crop their ears. ***shrug***

Oh well...guess I am stuck with dobermans :D
I would like to add that they do as they are told more than kids ,but sometimes i wonder!!
