Wondering if anyone has dogs from either Dobereich Dobermanns or Gatehouse Dobermans. Both breeders in Ontario Canada.
I would love if you could Private message me....and tell me about your experiences. I have heard good things about both kennels and would love if someone with personal experience would share their info with me.

Dobereich is a great choice.

I have a Dobereich dog know many of their dogs and owners.

I'm the person that has extablished D.O.G - Dobereich Owners Group. This is a great perk for Dobereich owners. It's unique to Dobereich and I'm not aware of any other breeders in Ontario having such a group.

We have a large amount of owners and dobereich dogs that are members.
We just had our 3rd meet and the each meet is growing in dobereich dogs and members attending. 4th meet will be at Woofstock right in the middle of Toronto in a few weeks. You could meet multiple Dobereich Owners and their dogs there. You being in the GTA there is a pretty good amount of solid core D.O.G members all around you for help and support and you could attend our meets easily as most have been in and around the GTA.

I have had a doberman from Dobereich. Preston was/is an AWESOME dog.

My husband and I separated, the dog went with him as they were securely bonded and I would never separate them.

There's just something so very special about a Dobe and their "person"....my husband was Prestons "person". It broke my heart to leave him (the dog) however, it would have broken Prestons heart more to tear him away from his very best friend.

I just purchased another doberman from Dobereich and HIGHLY recommend Monica and her family of Dobes to anyone who wants a Doberman with excellent temperament, excellent health and a breeder who puts the dogs FIRST!

Keep in mind that not everyone can own a Dobereich Dobe...a forever home is foremost, the buying price is nothing to this breeder. She'd willingly keep a dog until his/her "person" comes along, even if that means a few months or a few years. The RIGHT home is EVERYTHING to Monica.

I've heard phenomenal things about both breeders. I think it just depends on what kind of temperament/drive you're looking for and what sort of activities you're interested in more than anything.

FWIW, I met Maura and some of her dogs and puppies at the Kars dog show in 2010 when I was searching for the puppy who would become Roland. I didn't do much further research into Gatehouse (I wanted a breeder closer to home) but Maura was nice to me and her dogs are nice.

Hi Michel! I met you at training last Sunday, I had the little (big) red pup lol So you ended up taking home the sweetheart Apollo?

DV, In Kara's defense(and really in general), just because someone posts facts(big emphasis on this as okie has not lied about her experience with said breeder and has had the guts to post about it for the benefit of others doing research) that may not agree with the popular consensus, does not mean that they are not nice people and that they don't have a right to post those facts about their experiences. I don't know how you can judge someone's character like that? I'm sorry but that just rubbed me the wrong way.

I'm not a nice person because I gave a link to the OP about someone with a dog from this breeder? She can do research and make her own informed opinion.

How does that make me mean? I guess that's the general view of me on here now? I have a bad soul and I am a mean person??? Okey-dokey then.

I have never dealt with this breeder or her dogs, but have heard positives and negatives... so she should really do the research herself- read threads, talk to people that own or have previously owned dogs from her, talk to the breeder herself, etc.
