A vet.
I could be wrong but I think typically hair growth takes about 6 weeks in general with dogs. I had a dog with road rash on his face, nose, ear and elbows and I remember googling to see how long it might take to grow back.Ya I took him to the vet, its small spots that are sporadic..I am using the ointment though. Any idea when itll get better? Thank you for your suggestion LindaH I will try Sardines! (UGHHYUK!)
I have heard it can make it worse and I've heard it doesn't help at all. I do know of some people who put diaper rash/A&D Ointment on it also. Often times it just makes the dog start licking the spots. My vet just tells people to leave it be.Adara, whats your reasoning behind not using the ointment? Just curious.. I just dont want it to get worse.
I think Ill give it a little time... how do the patches start? A bug right? How do you kill the bugs? :|I have heard it can make it worse and I've heard it doesn't help at all. I copied this from wikipedia - IDR + uses transfer factor (I think that it what it is called) for dogs that come in with DemodexInteresting Dobejazz.
In that case, I'd certainly put a dog with that condition on K9 Immunity Plus.
Priscilla was throwing stuffies in the air, zooming around/up/down/over/ontop/under/etc on her three paws a couple days after introducing that to her diet.
She's never really ever been that overtly enthusiastic.
I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I spent that much on salty bleach water <vbg>.I wonder if Vetericyn would work on the small spots. I use this stuff if they get a boo-boo and it works good

the vet told me the same thing./ I started giving him vit c too to help his immune system. What is this "Transfer Factor"?My understanding is demodex is always present - flare ups are usually due to stress or a weak/stressed immune system.
I'd check with your vet before using it just to be safethe vet told me the same thing./ I started giving him vit c too to help his immune system. What is this "Transfer Factor"?
