Imagine, your very own last minute surprise, ultra elite, hybrid doberdane puppy that you didn't put any thought into whatsoever before purchasing for some exorbitant price off the internet.

Then you realize that dobermans and great danes are some of the most expensive dogs to care for and shockingly, they don't remain 20 pounds for their entire life. No way, are you for real?

So, the poor animal ends up in an animal shelter less than 5 months later, probably with behavioral issues because of the crappy start it got in life.

The first dog I ever shared my life with was a christmas reject and what a terribly time she must have had before I found her. This particular issue is a sore spot for me, even 17 years later.

The worst part of this one is that I KNOW the idiots responsible!! They promised me they were SPAYING this dog, claimed they "couldn't afford to" prior and I sent them with information on low-cost options locally. The absolute worst part is the willingness to BARTER...

Already told DH (this is his college roommate and wife) that they are not welcome in our home ever again. This "lovely" woman used to breed blue dobermans in Florida, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised...

Oh, I dunno, lately I've seen Chi/Pit crosses, Chi/GSD crosses, and Chi/GSP crosses.

The best was the Bullsh*t, though. Shih Tzu cross Pit Bull, and every bit as fugly as you'd dream it would be, poor thing. For sale for one price, then lower, then "reduced," then finally clearance price of "free to good home only."

 

Have you seen the numerous dog posts on oogle? I feel bad for this little guy, though he's handsome... probably another person who bought a pup and then decided dobermans were not for them/her.

This one does not need to be flagged, but it made me chuckle: cats wanted/adult/declawed females

I am looking for 1 or 2 young adult female spayed declawed cats to live in my home. I own the home and will keep the cats forever. I am not a 'hobby owner' or anything irresponsible. I have owned cats since I was 18 and I am 55 years old. I do have two very well behaved dogs, a Doberman service dog and a 6 pound Chiwawa. The cats will be inside cats only. I take my pets to Tufts for vet care so they will be well cared for. I feed my pets a meat/human diet. I will encourage the cats to do 'mouse duty' in the house, but they will definitely be fed meat and not be expected to survice on just mice!! They will be a well loved part of the family. Please call if you have nice cats for me, sister cats are encouraged! Prefer cats under 5 years of age. Please provide proof of health and vaccination. Thank you

 

Er, maybe I'm missing something, but if they expect "mouse duty," from these cats...why exactly are they requesting DECLAWED kitties?

 

I honestly don't know whether I prefer not to ever see them again or get the satisfaction of letting them know exactly what I think of them. Betting DH is hoping for the former They have only come over once and the POS wife was trying to pet my horses (all rescues) and they would have none of her. Turns out they were excellent judges of character!

 

Yeah, horses are not really known for sucking up and being hypocrites.

Unless there is a nice bucket of sweet feed involved

This article just came to me via Google alerts, regarding the bitch who was missing a leg. Apparently the "I hate dog breeders" Facebook page put it up, stating she was missing both legs (which I think we'd speculated anyway? [the royal we]). The article says the ad poster disconnected their phone, but makes no mention of calls to Animal Control or anything of that nature. So maybe it was just angry people calling the ad poster?

ETA: Of course, now that I've posted this, I remember it was in some other thread that I of course can't find now, not this one. But, Craigslist.

 

Wow...article states ad was posted the 13th...but the thread that inspired the interest here began on the 8th- same date as the screen shot.
