I was just googling around and found this old photo that was pictured in the National Geographic magazine! Not sure who took the photo though.

I love old black and white photos of our breed.

Pretty sure it's a southern thing :) I was raised on them and our town actually has a peanut festival every year where peanuts are boiled by the tens of thousands. If you weren't raised on them, odds are you wouldn't like them, but personally, they are nature's perfect food ;)

OP, I was planning on doing a vintage style photo shoot with Gunner soon. I know it's not the real thing, but I'll post them when i'm done. I am obsessed with vintage pics.

Yeah :)

I never really click on links, my internet throws a tantrum and won't load any American News websites, rescue websites and for some reason it hates flickr... I just expect people to post everything here for me :p

My 1st dobe, 1977-1986 (probably a 1979 photo, my best guess):

I learned to train her with 27 weeks of lessons from an awesome gal.
- plus, I did my homework, another 6 days/week...practiced +1 hour / night...beside a nearby large park
One park bench, at the entrance...I was thrilled to train her to jump it quickly...she was full of energy.

ONLY PRO. PICTURE on B&W I have:
- first year my wife and I lived in an apartment..and a Photo Student had a black & white film project to do
Dobe was on a white back drop...the lights were horrid & hot, and within 5 minutes Tanya wouldn't stack and only wanted to lay down...she was panting bad.

After 45 minutes we got the College Photo Shoot...this one negative was the students project submission.
- he choose her as his school subject...thinking our girl looked most graceful
I think he got a good class mark...and I got the original B&W proof, of our first girl Tanya / RIP my Love.

Even the crop was easy to post & stood quickly, decades ago / BUT, tail was one joint shorter, than I liked.
Tanya, was from the last litter, of Mrs. England (passed in her 80's...husbands name was Lloyd)
The male stub was Tango.
- anyone here, remember this senior & respected breeder...from Crediton, Ontario ??
(love to chat more, if you recall...just PM me or better still...please add note below)
