i have the same problem here in the summer. i still wouldn't bathe my dog that often. i'd have a kiddie pool for her when she's outside but we have air conditioning for a reason...she does not stay outside all day long.

i would reconsider your "outside only" plan. this breed is not meant for that.
In my country, the dobes are used as watchdogs for the house and most are left outdoors and most of them don't have a problem with scratching. it's only mine :(

that's a shame. they weren't bred for that. Herr Dobermann bred them to protect HIM, not his house. that's why their coat is so short and so thin - they're not meant to be outside all the time.

the only other suggestion i have is food-related. you should be feeding either raw (please research the right way to do this) or the highest quality kibble possible...and you really don't need to bathe the dog that often.
