Collars and Tags

I've recently begun looking at all these lovely collar websites... I'm expecting to begin buying tons of collars for Kaiser, once he's full grown. So, this has led to a question...

How many tags do you guys keep on your dogs' collars? And for those of you with multiple collars and seasonal collars, how do you keep your tags so that they can be easily changed and moved from collar to collar?

Love these: Rubit Clips "Carabiner Dog Tag Clips

Also use Fetching Tags for their ID: Fetching Tags Online Store

Sam's tag says "Super Model". Mack's tag says "Sexy Beast" LOL

My dogs always have their rabies, ID, and microchip tags on their collar/harness.

I have 3 tags on Jones (ID tag with Name and Phone #, Rabies Tag, and Microchip tag)

I have a Trigger Snap Hook that I use to transfer between collars... Makes things REALLY EASY...

I don't have that many collars though

BTW this is an old pic lol

LOL you made me laugh loud! We need a support group for the collarholics. I am in...

I use a clasp to attach name and license tags to a collar.

Gunner wears his rabies and ID tag all the time. He'll be microchipped when he's neutered so eventually he'll wear that tag as well. I take his collar off when he's crated, but any other time, he wears it. He has an orange and black halloween collar on and will eventually get some nice leather ones once he's full grown. :)

Mine have their rabies, microchip, and ID tags on them. The ID tags have their names, my number, and "I'm chipped!" as well.

I'm a big fan of Rubit clips (medium). They're easy to switch from one collar to the next, but it's not easy for them to come off accidentally.

I also love Etsy.com for tag shopping. I just got 2 custom ones from DoggoneTags, and I love them!

Which one did you get? I have two Doggone tags :) They are awesome.

What is the difference between Rubit clips and regular clasps? Are they stronger? Do they have better lock? I have never used them.

The Rubit clips are nice. Dreizehn has at least 6 collars and the rubit makes switching really easy. That being said he has 5 tags...

ID (Name, Phone)
Microchip
County Registration
Rabies
Trupanion Insurance

She made two custom ones for me. I don't think they're on her Facebook page or Etsy shop. I almost got the Mama's Boy one for Nietzsche though!

I also have tags from thehappychihuahua on Etsy, and they are great too.

I also use a clip that allows me to move tags from collar to collar. Shanoa has four tags on her clip - her ID tag (which advertises a reward, too), her rabies tag, her Canine Good Citizen tag, and her Delta Therapy Dog tag. Simon only has an ID tag and a rabies tag.

Question....do you guys find that the multiple tags get really loud? Since adding Gunner's rabies tag, he's SO noisy! Any way to keep him from jingling so bad?

I've seen little rubber tag things that sort of fit around the edge of the tag. Not sure if they work, and I think you'd have to buy one with the tag. I think Petsmart has them? Sorry about the vague-ness.

My dogs only wear collars when we leave the house, so I don't mind that they are loud.
I don't find that my boys tags are really loud. However, his microchip tag is plastic and I put that between his heavier tags and his lighter tags, that quiets things down a bit.

Both of Gunner's tags are metal and it's crazy loud when he's moving around. I'm paranoid though and leave them on anytime he's out of his crate. I'm always worried about him somehow escaping the backyard during a potty break, or my kids opening a door and him running out...things like that. Although I know it's not likely, I still don't risk it. At least not until he's microchipped. I'll look for the little plastic things to go around the tags. He was playing earlier and it sounded like Santa's reindeer were jingling in the living room :)
