What a great idea! DH built a box for a step and put rope handles on each end, but they are very heavy. He put carpet on the box. He built two, one for the bed and one for the van. These should be very light weight, I like them.

Wow, what a good idea. I could do with some of these to get my boy in and out of the boot.
Okay, I looked that up but it sounds like he's going in the trunk, lol.....

Great link EmilyB - so the foam doesn't take any wear...could glue 1/4" plywood on the top surface, with deck adhesive.
- since I drive a 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup and the front seat only tilts slifgtly...Amy now has a Costco.com folding ramp, that rests from my rocker panel...allowing her to be closer to the top of my truck seat
- started using Amy's ramp last year to get into my truck...now I use it for both in/out, to take stress off her legs (don't let her jump out, without the ramp)
The foam design appears that it would slide nicely under the bed to, and be out of the way...until needed.
