...but she DID find a sapphire first place rosette at this years Nationals!

I was such a bundle of nerves and although I only had one bitch to beat for first place, I wasn't sure I wouldn't vomit while in the ring LOL!

Journey did a fantastic job, I could have been smoother LOL! The judge was a very nice man and we ended up having a blast.

We were in the ring for BOW which was very exciting! It was so surreal, me in the ring with some of the nicest bitches in the country and the top handlers on them!

We had a great time, met some wonderful people and I got to see some amazing dobermans and amazing handlers!

Here is our picture!

Woohoo! Congrats on having the guts to get out there, and of course on your first place and the beautiful picture.

Very nice picture :) Congrats!

Now that you have done it once, it will be easier the next time you walk into the ring at the national. The first time I did it was 4 years ago and I put a song in my head and just kept singing it in my head to tune out everything else. Showing elsewhere is a piece of cake compared to the national - LOL! Nothing like a few hundred people staring at you and your dog - YIKES. This was the third time I've shown my own dog at the national and it was not nearly as scary this year.

Thanks Mary Jo. I think it will be easier next time, but I totally agree, showing in an all-breed show is completely different than showing at the Nationals!

I was so worried about Journey pacing as she's terrible for that, that I forgot about the people and just kept an eye out for that once I was in the ring.

Before going in I swear, I felt people could hear my heart hammering LOL! It was great experience for me and after all was said and done I had a blast!

Kristin, she looks beautiful and you do too! You have come so far with her, from a total novice to handling her to a Canadian Championship and then at the Nationals! I honestly don't think I can go in the ring at the Nationals, I would lose myself, I just know it.....lol
I am so happy and proud to say that you have one of my dogs. Thank You Kristin! You are awesome!

Thanks for being so supportive with a newbie Pat. It was nerve wracking for me prior to going in, but once you're in there, it gets better so I'm expecting you to be in there next year!

Journey and I will dip across the border to see how she does at the AKC shows, but with winter coming it will only be if the roads are safe. For now we will continue to work on my handling skills, there were lots of amazing handlers there that had such style! It was inspiring!
