What Wellness should I switch to? There is a purple bag and a lavender colored bag (lav bag is a weight loss/overweight formula)

I assume the purple and not lavender but wanted to double check.

I think Cash has a hint of starting to bow-leg and I want to catch and correct early.
It's darker purple. It was not a weight loss formula.

Yes always change foods slowly so you don't stress the system out.
K. Also, wellness reccommends 1 cup a day compared to the food he's on now, which is a cup and a half. When I completely switch over to wellness, will he still be hungry since he's not getting as much as before, or will the density of the new food make up for the lost half cup?

Start with a cup and keep an eye on his body condition.

I have read all of the links posted.

Her legs have been getting better. We have been doing play time outside in the grass, thank goodness for nice weather here :) The Vet also told us we were feeding her too much and that was not helping her leg problems. I swear I read that she should be eating 3-4 Cups a day, but the Vet wants her at 2-2.5 a day. You can't see all her ribs, just the last one and her hind bones are very pronounced.

She got her second shot yesterday, and didn't make a peep. The next one is on Nov 4th, and after that we can take walks!!! I can't wait to start walking with her (I know, I know, slow and short to start with)

With all of the stray dogs where we are, we are doing all of the shots right away. Between 20-40% of dogs here, depending on where you get your research, have Lepto. We are getting it next time.

Thank God 4 forums and the smart people who post. My 9 wk old Dobie started bowing. I followed the advice of someone's post and changed her food from Purina puppy chow large breed to Wellness Complete Health (adult) and it cleared it up n about a week. It has lower protein & calcium.

Nononononooooo!!

Do NOT give your puppy calcium! This happened to our boy at the same age. We had to switch his food to a lower protein content, roughly 27-32ish% (we fed him Wellness purple bag adult until corrected, forgot what flavor) We also had to limit his exercise and keep him quiet until they straightened out. Our house is purely hardwood which didn't help, I had to lay out several rugs or play with him outside.

I called a dozen vets and NONE knew what this was. They tried to send me to neurologists and specialists and none of them ever knew what I was taking about... Most vets don't. Taking it to someone who is inexperienced with this problem can do more harm than good.

It was so scary and I'm so thankful I caught it early! Our breeder was fabulous in helping us, as well as Shelly (known as Shelaindobe(sp?) on DT).

Lower protein food. Limit exercise. Put down a few rugs. It will correct itself in a couple short weeks if you follow that :)
I tried switching food 2 the Wellness adult purple bag. IT WORKED!
