I don't personally know this breeder but I know she has had alot of show dogs and I have a show acquaintance that owns a dog from her and is very happy with him and he finished quickly.

Is it odd at all, for her to still have a pup 5 months old?
No, actually, it could very likely be a puppy she was considering for show. The last puppy is likely the best puppy ..... I don't know why people think because a puppy is "last left" that there is something wrong. Quite the opposite!!

I also love her dogs....

Especially a male...as most breeders that hang onto a male hoping to get them in a show home, have to eventually let them go, cause they most likely already have a male or two they use as stud dogs...so the male puppies usually have to be let go sometime or another..doesn't mean they are not good dogs...
