Hi everyone I've been stalking the page for a few weeks now and would like to announce our new puppy KATO a black and rust male dobie! Born July 31. He has joined our pack of 2 shepherd/huskys (one 2 1/2 year old female and one 13 week old male). I think were gonna need a bigger bed

Thanks! So I had a question about Kato is it normal for him to randomly start growling? The other day in the dog park he heard a dog bark got up started growling and walking into the middle of the park. Looked almost like he was walking toward the person on the other side. It caught me by surprise.

He may be expressing uncertainty of a situation. Maybe keep him on a leash at all times, slowly get him used to different sounds, smells, people, and dogs to build up his confidence.

Welcome! If you haven't already, please do some reading on same sex aggression, which is pretty common in the breed, particularly with males. Many males are not able to tolerate other males, whether they are both Dobermans or not and neutered or not.
