Saw Bravo at the Doberman Specialties in Rye Brook NY over the weekend. He is a nice dog. Saw quite a few of the Dobermans showing at Westminster over the weekend at the specialty shows.... the seats were a lot better - haha. My Mabel did well at the specialties..... not sure I'll ever enter a dog in Westminster. I did drive past Madison Square Garden on Sunday though

I was hoping for the Golden, Havanese, or the Sheltie to win but still congrats to the poodle!

I was there too, and Mabel did look lovely. Congratulations on a good showing. There were a lot of beautiful dogs in Rye Brook for sure.

Was rooting for the Boxer. That poodle was a real showman though. My stream froze just as the judge was about to announce the winner.

That being said, the Kerry Blue terrier was absolutely robbed in the Terrier group. That dog moved and I actually gasped. I am not usually one to get dazzled by the glitz and glamour of show dogs and I know nothing about the KB standard pertaining to movement but I do not think a dog has ever made me gasp outloud. I had to blink a few times. Plus I noticed it exhibiting correct terrier spirit, trying to size up and eye its competitors along the sidelines as it was gaiting on the final round.

Several people, including Boxer people told me they thought Bravo was robbed as well.

I want to talk however about a Malinois breeder and exhibitor who was interviewed and whose video is floating around on FB, saying that her Mals are affectionate but that a lot of people "rag train them and that makes them aggressive" which aside from being patently false is just not ok... she then went on to say she does obedience and agility so she doesn't want that... and I think to myself what the heck? Why wouldn't you want your agility or obedience dog to enjoy tugging as a motivational reward?

I have been sitting here since this morning stunned and disturbed that she would be so proud of her own ignorance. Then she went on to brag that Mals were better than GSDs because they have less problems and aren't on the insurance hitlist.

Please don't think I'm a sore loser because a Doberman didn't win , But to me , If a dog like Bravo did not walk out with a group win , then it will never happen .

Like some of you - After the working group - I was rooting for the Golden , but that's just me
