Not to be exceedingly rube, but he looks really overweight.

Cute, but he could probably lose 10lbs pretty easily and be fine. No idea as to blood lines.

Is he full Dobie?
Sure looks like dobie/rotty mix to me...especially with the shorter legs, broad torso and longer hair at the stomach line....

No matter.....he still looks to be a happy guy!

He looks likes a Doberman to me. Couldn't tell you Euro or NA without seeing his pedigree. He's a fine on height (males should be 26 to 28 inches). However, he's probably at least 5, and more likely 10 pounds overweight. Have you had a thyroid panel run on him recently? Low thyroid is a common cause of weight gain. If the thyroid test comes back within normal ranges, you and your vet can put together a diet and exercise plan for him.

Everyone says he is half rottie but both his parents are dobies. Does he have shorter legs? I am getting him to a vet this week for thyroid examination. His mom was overweight. His bones are quite big. How to make him loose weight

The test you want is a full thyroid panel, and needs to be sent off to an outside lab, like MSU, Homeopet, Idexx, or one of the university labs. Once you get the results back, then you can plan your "attack" so to speak. Part of it depends on the test results.

Yep, agree with the others. Check his thyroid and get some weight off of him. He will be much healthier.
