I'd also ask what do YOU enjoy doing? Agility is my passion but we also dabble in rally, obedience, hunting (for my other breed) and we did some disc dog too.

I would not get the kits online myself. I'd get into a few lessons or get some good foundation DVDs or books. Clean Run has videos on demand. I'd start and have fun but be safe and teach good jumping...

I think it's difficult to study in a breed already so riddled with cancer issues. I hope that makes sense. But Goldens have such a high incidence of cancer already, I think it would be hard to say.

I don't know anyone who has stopped heat cycles myself for showing. That's not to say it doesn't happen I guess. But bitches in heat can be shown.

Yes they can vary. I never think of the first one as a real one either myself. Depending on when they come in it may take a few cycles to see a "cycle" so to speak :)
