It's been a little more than 2 years since I started Sasha's thread. Annie and I miss her, and we frequently visit some of her favorite places, where we have spread some of her ashes. She's physically and spiritually a part of those places: true shrines to her memory.

Ironically, two days ago, Sasha's older dobe brother, Soames, collapsed and died at a local marina, about 60 feet from one of Sasha's shrines. I didn't mention the proximity of his collapse to Sasha's ashes in Soames' thread: ( https://www.dobermantalk.com/rainbow-...yesterday.html ), because I was too shocked to realize it.

Yesterday, however, when I described the event for the 20th time to my wife, who was not with me when Soames collapsed, she remarked it must have been very close to the buried ashes. Indeed it was--only a few steps away. I'm going to add a comment about the ashes to Soames' thread.

We thank everyone so much for helping us through these trying times.

Sorry for your loss. I quite often will reflect on my loved ones from the past. sometimes something will happen to make me think of a particular one. As time goes on now when I think of them it brings a smile to my face as I am thankful to have had that love and that they were in my life and helped shape who I am today.
