Elza, I understand totally what you are saying. It will be one year this coming May that my daughter and I lost our Duggan. It is still raw in our minds and brings tears talking about him.

Everything related to Elza might be weird to someone. But she still lives in my heart.

I agree - It might sound weird to other people - But you know - We are Not the other people on here - We have Dobermans and totally understand where your coming from !

After Ali passed - I was hauling grain into the elevator - it was busy and some guy walked in office and in general conversation asked how the Dobers were doing - I tried - I really did try to not break down in there - But I couldn't do it , The guy looked at me funny and it pizzed me off and I looked at him and said Never mind - you would never understand unless you ever had a Doberman and I walked out - tears looked more like a river .

We understand

Sleep softly Elza--we who have Dobes and have lost them definitely do understand.

I lost my 14 year old fawn boy right around Thanksgiving last year--the house was terribly empty and worse one of my cats who evidently believed that my Toad was HIS dog hunted for him several times a day--was sure when I went any place I would be back with his dog.

Between my loss and his I borrowed a 6 month old puppy from a friend who needs enough attention that it's helped me get through this loss--the cat is so busy trying to teach Joey (the loaner) manners around cats it keeps him busy too.
