Roxy - April 7, 2007 - October 20, 2018
I haven't posted here in a while and I don't even know how to post pictures anymore, but I wanted to post about Roxy...

My little Roxy had a heart attack and died in my arms on Saturday night. I am lost. I am crushed and I feel broken.

We adopted her in October of 2007; she was about six months old. We made up the date of her birthday so we'd have one to celebrate with her. She was my very best friend for just over eleven years. My husband always said we were two peas in a pod.

She was so bossy and absolutely made the rules for the house. She loved bossing Dexter around and making him play exactly how she wanted to play. She was diagnosed with Wobbler's four years ago and while she struggled to do a lot, she still bossed Dexter around like it was her job.

She was my world. Taking care of her was my life. Making sure she was okay is all I ever did, or wanted to do. We are all so lost without her here. I know 11.5 years is amazing with this breed, but I am so sad. All I want is to give her one more ear rub, one more butt scratch, one more apple chunk. This hurts to much.

As I told her every single night before bed...You are my favorite, Roxy-Roo. Good night. I love you the most.

Ahhhh Eighmie,

It was so nice to see you posting here again and I'm really sorry that it had to be about your loss of Roxy.

I've said it before as have many others--I don't care how many years we have these dogs--it's truly never long enough.

Sleep softly Roxy...

Goodbye Roxy... Be free... Run free... Pain free.

@ eighmie: Even given a long life as Roxy was, they are never with us long enough.

My thoughts are with you...

I'm very sorry for your loss of little sweet, but sassy Roxy, RIP.
Despite her ailments, she had a wonderful long life with you, as did Indy.
You are really a committed Doberman family, as I hope we will always be.
I'm sure Dexter also misses Roxy and he will help in your healing process.

This statement reminds me exactly of our Doberboy and girl's relationship!

As I normally do with all the Rainbow Bridge posts, I went back through your numerous threads to review your lost love one's life.

I really enjoyed this thread with lots of Dexter and Roxy pics:

And...especially Roxy & Dexter's American DoberGothic classic picture: :2smile:

spocksdad! This was so special to see - thank you so much. Some of those pictures made me smile. Something I haven't done much of the last few days. That Roxy pillow though; it's a heartbreaker. When I brought it home, my husband thought I was silly and thought she'd tear it up right away. She had it for at least nine years and it's still perfect.

We're pouring all of our energy into Dexter right now and he's exhausted. :) Thank you again.

So sorry for your loss - while 11 years is a great age for a Doberman, it is never long enough. Hugs to you.

greenkouki 10-23-2018 04:33 PM

I'm so sorry you lost your girl :crying:

MeadowCat 10-23-2018 04:53 PM

I'm so terribly sad to hear about of my favorite girls. Her personality always shined through the "ether" of the internet. I know how much you are missing her. My heart goes out to you.
